Our cousin, Chad, was saved in March and has been growing in the Lord ever since. It's wonderful to see the change in his life and his heart's desire to serve the Lord. He was baptized on Sunday night and gave a testimony that was a blessing to all of us.
We had a nice dinner with Grandpa, Uncle Paul and his friend Caroline on Monday. Caroline is from London but works in Singapore. She was in the states for the first time this past week. She was quite overwhelmed by the portions of food served here! We all loved listening to her talk. She has a very cute accent! : ) We enjoyed our time with her and hope she can visit again soon!
Susanna and Lydia had the opportunity to learn about canning with some friends from church last week. They made strawberry jam and we are looking forward to trying it! : )
We had our relatives over for a Father's Day dinner on Saturday night. We missed ALL of the family that is out of town. It seems to be getting quieter as the family is spreading out... quieter not quiet! : ) We were glad my Aunt Susan was able to come home for the weekend. It has also been nice to have our Uncle Paul home from Singapore for the summer.
Susanna and Lydia played their violins in a Spring Ensemble Recital. They also played in a solo recital the following day and their songs were beautiful. We had technical difficulties with the camera at both recitals so we didn't end up with the best pictures. : (
Joanna and Tabitha left on May 23rd to work at Camp Joy for the summer. They are the main bloggers for our family but the rest of us will do our best to keep things updated while they are gone. Abby Joshua is also with them working as a counselor with Tabitha, and Joanna is working in the camp office. They have started a blog to keep us posted on their summer adventures. You can check it out at funtime09.blogspot.com. The link is also listed under our family and friends, "Girls at Camp Joy."
We went to Wisconsin last weekend for Tizzy's graduation. We stopped at the Jelly Belly Factory on the way back.
Naomi was disgusted that
they had Jelly Belly's that tasted like boogers. :)
We stopped in IL to see Lloyd & Bethany and celebrate Joanna's 4th birthday. She was so excited we were there for her birthday! We went to All Aboard Diner for Dinner.
She loved her "dress up" clothes!
She wanted to wear her new pajamas as her princess dress. :)
Joanna was so sad that we had to go back to Michigan. She is quite the drama queen. Crying and all in one breath she said, " I don't want you to go back to Michigan, I will miss you and I will dream about you. Hasta La Vista." :)
